Day 15: January 15
You did it!
You completed our 15 days to better skin guide and I couldn’t be any more
happier that you chose to follow along.
I hope that by following along that you learned a few new things about
your skin, skincare, and yourself; that you are seeing positive changes in your skin
and that you are looking forward to seeing more.
For today, you just need to take the tips and tricks that you learned and continue to put them into positive action. I hope that you are inspired to continue finding new ways to treat and pamper your skin, and that you have a newfound interest
in maintaining a healthy complexion.

Day 14 : January 14
Trim your bangs. Tweeze and groom your brows. Curl your lashes. Wax any unwanted facial hair.
Take some time today to clean up and groom theses areas that highlight and frame the face – or at least book an appointment with a professional whom can take care of it for you.
Grooming your brows and curling your lashes will highlight the eyes, which are probably brighter and looking lifted thanks to all the extra care you’ve taken in the past two weeks. Trimming the brows and cleaning up their shape will frame your glowing skin; and removing any unwanted facial hair will further emphasize your complexions smoother appearance.
It’s all about the details, and these little tweaks just help the process a long. Plus, you’ll just look super cute!

TIP : Don’t be afraid to experiment with brow and lash timing too … these simple tricks can help you look awake and made up instantly with no makeup. Less makeup equals more better skin days!
HOMEWORK : Learn how to trim your bangs and groom your brows yourself. This will help to save more money in your pocket which can then be saved up and spent on more skincare products!
For most of this guide, we’ve focused on repairing and renewing the skin because the key is to get your skin back into shape. But what happens once you meet that goal?
Day 13 : January 13
Protect your skin.
Today, I want you to grab your tablet (or laptop, or smartphone) and start researching on your options for SPF. This is especially important if you’ve been relying on a moisturizer or foundation base that claims to have SPF included. You need a standalone SPF if you really want to protect your skin. While the SPF included in your products can help to protect, it’s not their #1 goal. An SPF-specific product is your best bet for fighting off increased and future sun damage and aging.
Before you think “okay – I’ll just pick up some Coppertone” … no no … plenty of cosmetic brands have SPF that will fit a bit better with your daily skin and beauty routine. They are lightweight in texture and feel, making it much easier to wear day in and day out. Choose one with an SPF of at least 30 or higher. You’ll want to apply your SPF at the end of your skincare routine, but before makeup.
Never forego sun protection. Even in the winter months, your skin needs its SPF. Be very diligent about it to prevent a plethora of skin issues down the road.
Have fun in the sun!
TIP : Ask for samples and try them all out under your makeup. While all may protect equally, some might create a better base for your makeup than others.
HOMEWORK : If your budget allows, you can pick up an extra SPF product in stick form. You can stick this in your purse and reapply as needed throughout the day especially when you’re outside more than expected.
I’m hoping by now your skin is taking top priority in your daily rituals, morning and night; that you’re beginning to reap the benefits, and you want to keep it up. If so, I’m ready to share with you the tip I recommend to all my clientele, regardless of their skin type.
Day 12 : January 12
Embrace face oils.
I have a lot of clients that I recommend this to look at me in shock and concerned that using face oil will just promote ongoing oily skin … but many experts will tell you the exact opposite is true … and so will plenty of my clients.
Whether you apply face oil directly to the skin as is, or add a few drops to your existing moisturizer, face oils can help to regulate oil production and hydrate at the same time. They can also be used to remove makeup and cleanse the skin before you wash, which is much more gentle than stripping away your makeup with a remover or soap based cleanser.
There are some great brands available with a range of face oils to combat skin issues such as acne or rosacea, while others can aid in the fight against aging. You can also check out the health food aisle or a nearby health and nutrition store for natural and organic versions. And the best face oil DIY … well for me, it’s organic coconut oil straight out of the jar.
If you’re still unsure about applying oil directly to the skin, start off small with adding just a drop to your moisturizer or night cream. You’ll still notice results, and eventually become more comfortable with using face oil on its own and directly to the skin.
And that’s when the magic happens …
TIP : Get comfortable with it. Start with a simple face oil before moving on to face oils that help to combat certain skin issues.
HOMEWORK : TRack your progress with face oils. Whip out the camera, and track the changes in your skin after a week of using face oils.

About now, you’re seeing positive changes in your skin and leaps forward in caring for it. The best way to set off your new glowing skin is to take care of the smaller details as well. One of the smaller details that happens to complement healthy skin are lips.
Day 11 : January 11
Scrub, soften and protect your lips.
Soft kissable lips and smooth clear skin pack a one-two punch in the healthy department.
Start by exfoliating the lips with a gentle lip scrub or soft toothbrush. If you don’t have a lip scrub, you can mix together some coconut oil with brown sugar. Using a gentle circular motion across the lips removes dry skin and flakes revealing smoother skin instantly. Be sure to exfoliate over the lip line as well.
Once your lips are freshly scrubbed, smooth and replenish the area with your favourite natural lip balm. Be liberal with it … and be frequent. And same thing : don’t just apply to the lip area, go over the lip line a bit to nourish and hydrate any finer lines around the mouth.
If you own a lip cream, you can apply this as well for a very intensive lip treatment.
No, kiss away …
TIP : Scrubbing your lips is way different than scrubbing your skin, face, or feet. A gentle touch is all you need. Scrub too hard and your lips may get chapped all over again.
HOMEWORK : Make a habit of having a natural lip balm nearby or in your pocket at all times. Especially in the winter months!
Experts say that a the best way to reach a goal is to set small goals and reward yourself each time you reach that goal. Well, I’ve given you a 15-day guide to follow and you’re at 10 day. And I know you are good for five more, so today, I want you to set your reward for the end of this 15 days … and enjoy it.
Day 10 : January 10
Book a facial.
Whether you book just a facial or a full day at the spa, that’s up to you … but just make sure it includes a bit of pampering for your new skin. It could be a simple facial with extractions or a full on treatment complete with a peel but do your research and only book in for what you’re truly comfortable with. This includes budget and time wise too.
Again, the key here is that it’s a reward. So treat it like one. The only stipulation is you make your appointment for 6 days from now – AFTER you complete your 15 day guide.

TIP : If you don’t go for a facial regularly, ask friends who do for recommendations. Right down to the package they buy and the skin specialist they see. You can’t go wrong with great recommendations.
